The City of Rowlett is looking for hardworking, hands-on team players who take pride in seeing the direct impact of their work every single day. From athletic fields and playgrounds to parks, landscaping, irrigation, and city properties — this role helps maintain the spaces our community lives, plays, and gathers in.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

No two days are the same. In this role, you’ll:

Maintain parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, medians, trails, and landscaped areas.
Operate equipment including tractors, mowers, skid steers, loaders, ATVs, and trucks.
Assist with irrigation installation and repairs.
Help prepare athletic fields and park facilities for safe public use.
Perform landscaping, turf maintenance, tree and shrub care, and seasonal upkeep.
Support minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and concrete repairs.
Apply fertilizers and chemicals as directed.
Keep restrooms, public spaces, and park amenities clean and safe.
Assist with special projects, city events, storm response, and beautification efforts.

This position also serves as a key support role for the Parks Crew Leader and may assist with oversight and operations when needed.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED required.
At least one (1) year of general maintenance experience required.
Parks, landscaping, construction, irrigation, athletic field, or trades experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license required with good driving record.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

CDL.
Irrigator License.
Pesticide Applicator License.
Certified Arborist.
Playground Safety Inspector.
