The City of Rowlett is looking for hardworking, hands-on team players who take pride in seeing the direct impact of their work every single day. From athletic fields and playgrounds to parks, landscaping, irrigation, and city properties — this role helps maintain the spaces our community lives, plays, and gathers in.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
No two days are the same. In this role, you’ll:
  • Maintain parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, medians, trails, and landscaped areas.
  • Operate equipment including tractors, mowers, skid steers, loaders, ATVs, and trucks.
  • Assist with irrigation installation and repairs.
  • Help prepare athletic fields and park facilities for safe public use.
  • Perform landscaping, turf maintenance, tree and shrub care, and seasonal upkeep.
  • Support minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and concrete repairs.
  • Apply fertilizers and chemicals as directed.
  • Keep restrooms, public spaces, and park amenities clean and safe.
  • Assist with special projects, city events, storm response, and beautification efforts.

This position also serves as a key support role for the Parks Crew Leader and may assist with oversight and operations when needed.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least one (1) year of general maintenance experience required.
  • Parks, landscaping, construction, irrigation, athletic field, or trades experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required with good driving record.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

  • CDL.
  • Irrigator License.
  • Pesticide Applicator License.
  • Certified Arborist.
  • Playground Safety Inspector.
